*PRICE & PAYMENT OPTIONS

Do you charge a travel fee? 

Our rates are hourly (not per design).There are no travel fees, as long as you are within 30 miles of zip code 20906.  We generally do not accept bookings beyond this travel range.


Do you ever give discounts?

We offer discounts for our military families, and offer our services for charity events throughout the year.  Call to discuss.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept credit cards to secure your booking, and the balance is then due at your event in the form of cash or check.


Am I expected to tip you? 

Tips are appreciated and accepted, but never expected.

What kinds of parties or events do you do? 

You name it! Almost anyplace there will kids or adults who want to do something fun and different! Children's Birthday Parties, Family Parties / Picnics / Reunions, Holiday Parties, Grand Openings, Weddings, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Graduation / End of School Year Parties, Sporting Events, Community Outreaches, Church Functions, Scouting Events, Corporate Events, Fairs, Festivals, Car Shows and Fundraisers.

 

Do you paint just the children at parties, or do you also paint the adults? 

We paint adults all the time at parties! Our face painting appeals to all ages. Some clients have us paint everyone, some have us just paint the children. It just depends on what you prefer. The more people, the more time it will take.  We always discuss this issue ahead of time with our clients.


Are You A Clown or a Character? 

We come in casual, professional clothes.  We will often times paint our own faces before large events.  We do not dress like a clown or act like one, nor are we typically characters.  However, we do offer princess characters and would be more than happy to discuss adding this option to your event.  



*ABOUT OUR FACE PAINTING

Will Face Painting alone be enough entertainment for my party? 

Yes!  Kids love face painting and they get very excited when they see our design book!  Most parties we do have just face painting, and it is enough to keep the kids busy and happy.  Some parties offer several entertainment options.  It really depends on the number of guests you are expecting.

How many faces can you paint?

Each face takes approximately 3-4 minutes, depending on the age and selected design.  We can accommodate about 15 guests per hour.  Fun Faces DC is one of the fastest painters in the business, we guarantee it! We once painted for 6 hours, painting a new face every 52 seconds!!


What ages do you paint? 

We paint children ages 2 & up. However, we usually can only do a limited range of simple designs on 2 year olds (they can be a little squirmy & afraid of strangers & new experiences!). Usually cheek art is the only option for toddlers.  Most children 3 & up have no problem sitting still. 

What kind of paints do you use? 

We only use professional face paints.  We prefer Wolfe Bros. and Kryolan brands, which are safe, non-toxic and FDA approved.  Our glitters are non-metallic and are cosmetic grade and are safe for use around the eyes.   Our henna is all-natural.    WE DO NOT ENDORSE OR USE any kind of commercial craft products. Acrylics, tempera, watercolors, crayons, sharpies, metallic or craft glitter, etc. are NOT intended to be used on skin. These contain harsh chemicals that can injure and damage skin or severely irritate the eyes. Fun Faces DC is all about hygiene and safety. We follow strict standards of excellence!


How do I remove the paints?

The paints can be removed with mild soap and water.  We recommend applying cleanser or baby shampoo and gently wiping the design away with a dark wash cloth.  Some colors may leave a light stain, depending on the child’s complexion.  If so, apply moisturizer and gently clean again in 30 minutes. 

Do you paint full-face designs? 

Absolutely!  We paint full-face designs, cheek art and arms. We bring a board of designs for your guests to choose from that range from full faces to small designs and that appeal to toddlers as well as older kids.

 

*BOOKING INFORMATION

How far in advance do I need to book you?  

We have no set policy. As long as we're available, we accept last minute bookings with no extra charge.  However, you need to book us as early as possible to ensure someone else doesn’t take your day.  There is just no way to predict how early any particular day will get booked.  We suggest booking your party at least 4 weeks in advance. 

What is your cancellation policy?

If you decide to cancel the event, your $50 deposit is non-refundable.  If the cancellation is weather-related, your $50 deposit may be applied to your rescheduled event.  We will do our best to accommodate rain dates, but cannot guarantee artist availability.  If event is cancelled within 5 days of the event, client will be responsible for 50% of remaining balance.

What cities do you work in? 

We cover the entire Washington DC Metro area, including Arlington, Fairfax, McLean, Rockville, Silver Spring, Gaithersburg, and more. 


Can I have you offer the kids a limited menu of only your quickest designs?
  

Yes.  We can offer only cheek art for quicker designs, however many of our full face designs are quicker then the detailed cheek art.  If you are expecting a lot of guests, you may want to consider our air-brush tattoos, as this can accommodate up to 30 guests/per hour/per artist. 

 


*QUESTION'S ABOUT THE PARTY

How do you handle parties with both boys & girls?   

Our standard board of designs  are for both girls and boys.  There are boys who ask for butterflies, and there are girls who ask for dragons!  We have plenty of “girlie” designs, and plenty of designs boys think are cool!

Will all guests at the party be painted?

Our artists will always do their best to accommodate all guests, but cannot be responsible for guests remaining after booking time is up.  We recommend allowing enough time to ensure all guests can be served.  If additional time is needed, it may be added at the rate quoted above.


Do I need to provide anything for you like a table and chairs, or shade?  

No.  We have our own supplies, but we do need to know whether or not to bring them to your event.  If your event is outside in the summer months, please provide a shaded location for set-up. We will however discuss this arrangement when you book the party.


What time will you arrive?

We will arrive 10 minutes prior to your booking time to set-up, and will paint for the entire booking time. 


Do you have insurance?

Yes, Fun Faces DC is insured by Specialty Insurance Group, dba Performers of America.  A copy of our current policy is available by request.  We can also accommodate adding your venue to be additionally insured at no additional cost.  This is only offered for company events and requires at least two weeks prior notice.

 

We reserve the right to refuse painting any guests with visible wounds or illness, as well as painting any design or body part our artist deems inappropriate.
